-
Where are you from?
Originally England, but I have been in Edinburgh for over a decade.
-
Why did you choose to volunteer at Borderline Arts?
I was keen to find a way to update my web management skills and improve my CV. I am also passionate about fighting the stigma and lack of knowledge surrounding BPD, something that I have had personal experience with. I was over the moon to find this role that combines both factors perfectly.
-
What is your role in Borderline Arts?
I share the volunteer role of Website Manager.
-
What is your occupation outside Borderline Arts?
I am a freelance creative copywriter and proofreader.
-
How long have you volunteered with Borderline Arts?
I joined in November 2023.
-
What is your favourite colour?
Well, with a surname like mine, it's got to be magenta.
-
What’s one of your favourite places in the world
Luckily somewhere geographically close to me! The East Neuk of Fife, Scotland – wild swimming in its tidal pools and clear sea.
-
What is one of your favourite quotes?
“A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly. You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out teeth, but if you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.” Roald Dahl
-
Do you have any phobias?
Yes, two. An irrational fear of custard and, to me, a very rational fear of a reptilian-something that I can’t even type. Eek!
-
Marmite: love it or hate it?
LOVE it.
-
An interesting (or weird) fact about you?
See my irrational phobia for weird!
-
Do you have any pets?
I have a ridiculously handsome black cat. He is named after two of the world’s greatest Jazz musicians, but seemingly shows no interest in the genre.
-
Introvert or Extrovert?
Most of the time, an introvert.
