Beccy Gamble

Bec 1_edited_edited_edited_edited.jpg

Beccy helps at our Creative Educational Workshops, which we usually run for health and social care professionals (or for students training in these areas).

Alongside Sarah and Vicky, Beccy candidly shares her own experience of life with BPD in order to help professionals and students better understand it.

The aim is to enable workshop participants to then be able to a more effectively support those living with BPD.

Where are you from?

Why did you choose to volunteer at Borderline Arts?

Having met Sarah through a Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Group, I was introduced to Borderline Arts and what they do and how useful it is so decided I wanted to be involved.

What is your role in Borderline Arts?

I help co-facilitate the educational workshops about BPD.

What is your occupation outside Borderline Arts?

I work in prescriptions management.

How long have you volunteered with Borderline Arts?

Since 2015.

What is your favourite colour?

What’s one of your favourite places in the world?

I'm not very well travelled, but I love Turkey.

What is one of your favourite quotes?

“I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one.” (Maya Angelou)

Do you have any phobias?

Food touching my hands (or in fact, any part of my body!).

Marmite: love it or hate it?

I don't hate it, but nor do I love it; I can eat it but choose not to.

An interesting (or weird) fact about you?

One of my eyes is two different colours.

Do you have any pets?

Not currently.

Introvert or Extrovert?

Introvert, for sure... but I'm good at disguising myself as an extrovert when occasion calls for it!
