Event Coordinator
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a volunteer Event Coordinator for Borderline Arts. Your role will be to organise the workshops and events we run in order to ensure Borderline meets its aims and objectives.
The Event Coordinator will:

Organise and promote creative groups for people with BPD.

Coordinate educational workshops with health and social care professionals.

Support the Fundraising Coordinator with events and activities.

Support the Volunteer Coordinator with social events.
The main duties of the Event Coordinator will include:

Organise dates and venues for creative groups in conjunction with our Workshop Facilitators.

Collaborate with the Fundraising Coordinator to organise events such as charity gigs.

Manage bookings and respond to all enquiries related to our workshops and events.

Working alongside our Chair and external organisations to coordinate educational workshops.

Promoting workshops and events with support from our Social Media Manager and Website Manager.

Liaise with our Treasurer to manage payments and expenses for workshops and events.

Contact actors and assistants to support our creative groups.

Ensure all materials are in place ready for workshops and creative groups.

Manage feedback from our workshops and put forward improvements based on these.
Knowledge and Skills Required
Ideally the Event Coordinator is someone who:

Is extremely organised, positive and enthusiastic.

Is highly motivated and able to work autonomously but also has the ability to work well in a team.

Can communicate effectively and has excellent interpersonal skills.

Ensure they are aware of the future directions and plans of Borderline Arts.

Access to internet, email, web, MS Word, MS Excel or equivalent.

Has experience of using basic databases including Windows based software packages.

Has the ability to delegate successfully.

Communicates clearly and regularly with our Volunteer Coordinator
Appointment Terms and Time Commitment Required

The Event Coordinator is appointed for a term, which is negotiated between the Volunteer Coordinator and the applicant. The minimum term is 12 months.

The estimated time commitment required as the Event Coordinator of Borderline Arts is 4-6 hours per week. Some weeks will be much less, some much more – so there is a need for flexibility.

Attendance at occasional Team Meetings (approx 1 hour in length).

At all times, remember that Borderline Arts’s focus is to raise awareness/understanding of and reduce stigma surrounding BPD, using the arts – ensure whatever you are doing is achieving that aim, or leading us to be able to do that more.
