Sofia Baxendale-Baines

Sofia co-facilitates our creative Art Group for adults with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) / Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD).

She creates a safe, non-judgmental and welcoming environment for group members to come together and engage in creative activities.

Where are you from?
I was born in Derby but I am half Spanish and half English!

Why did you choose to volunteer at Borderline Arts?
I really want to help and inspire people to have fun! I am passionate about art and about its power in resonating with people in so many different ways.

What is your role in Borderline Arts?
Art Group Co-Facilitator.

What is your occupation outside Borderline Arts?
Student at Loughborough University!

How long have you volunteered with Borderline Arts?
Just starting out!

What is your favourite colour?
Officially, it is green, but the art nerd in my heart wants to say burnt umber because it is useful for shadows and its properties help oil paintings dry faster!

What’s one of your favourite places in the world?
Valladolid, the city where my family is from.

What is one of your favourite quotes?

Do you have any phobias?
Not that I know of!

Marmite: love it or hate it?
Never tried it!

An interesting (or weird) fact about you?
I collect and paint Dungeons and Dragons figurines because I am a nerd :3

Do you have any pets?
I have two gorgeous cats and two lovely dogs! We are a big (fluffy) family.

Introvert who likes to believe they can be extroverted.
