Lost
By L.E. (Anon)
Walk along the forest edge
From the outside it seems so peaceful
Autumn has turned the leaves into a patchwork quilt of reds and browns and
You can see shimmering pools of dappled sunlight
Collecting on the forest floor find a path leading in and
Venture through the gnarled tree trunks
But quickly realise that the forest is much denser than it
First appeared the tree canopy closes above you
Leaving you in darkness
The path beneath your feet has been swallowed up
By a carpet of dead leaves and moss
And
You are already lost.
