Art Group for Adults with BPD

We are really excited to be launching a free bi-monthly Art Group for adults with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) next week!

Receiving a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is essentially being given a list of (often overwhelming) difficulties we face daily. Living with those struggles is flippin’ tough but ‘BPD’ does not define who we are.

Many of us with BPD struggle to know who we are. Over time, the diagnosis and being ill can create a sense of identity that we hate, yet cling to because it’s familiar and feels deceptively safe.

Recovery is hard work, but also scary - “If I am stripped of those labels, who am I? Will expectations from others become too much to cope with?”

This group will provide a fun, sociable and supportive space to creatively explore, express and celebrate our qualities, interests, quirks, good memories etc.

We hope that this will help group members develop:

* A more positive self-image

* A more positive sense of identity

* Healthier coping techniques

* Confidence to make small, manageable steps toward a more fulfilling life
