The vibe I’m trying to convey with this mixed media collage is that, even when you have encountered struggles, like those of us with BPD do, you can still bounce back, new and improved, full of resilience, powerful, and armed with the skills required to take over the world. Don’t let anything hold you back.
What I’m trying to communicate with this collage is that, when experiencing a BPD episode, even when you feel like you are in chaos or upside-down at the moment, you recognize that, no matter who or what else is in your life, you and the love you have for yourself will ensure that there will always be someone to catch you when you fall: YOU.

At six years old I announced that I was going to be an artist when I grew up. I’ve been creating and honing my craft for over 35 years. I love creating something out of nothing. There’s a certain magic that comes with creating something beautiful and sublime with your own two hands. It’s a very empowering feeling. I take a multifaceted and multi-disciplined approach to art. I create with all mediums, especially favoring pastel pencils, acrylic, sculpture, and collage, but I try to incorporate new and different styles and materials into each piece. My mental health, my life, and my emotions are what inspire my art. I put all of my feelings into each piece, and sometimes it becomes sort of a form of therapy even. Because of the view I have that mental health support should be freely given, I don’t sell my art. Instead, I give it to people who I know will truly appreciate it. “Being creative is not a hobby, it’s a way of life.”
